Learning from Wise Ones

India is a country of saints and learned people. Our history is full of personaolties that have given the gift of knowledge and different perspectives to the world. Gautama Buddha, Chanakya, Chatrapati Shivaji, Swami Vivekananda, Gandhi ji and so many more. list is endless. Stories of their teachings are passed from one generation to another in the form of stories, songs books etc.
Each and every word spoken by these eminent personaolties fills our heart with pride and love towards them as well as towards our great country. We are told to remember the idea, not the man. Because a man can fail. He can be caught; he can be killed and forgotten. But his idea can still change the world.
Republic day is an occasion which gives us an opportunity to look beyond the celebration of freedom and reflect on how to treasure this freedom and bring more glory to the gift we have received from our heroes of the freedom fight.
And the most beautiful part of the history of our motherland is that, how of this question is also hidden in the messages we have received from people who nurtured this land with their blood, beliefs and values. All we have to do is, to follow their footsteps. Let us go through a few of them and reaffirm our understanding and sense of responsibility!
