It is always proud being a women and international women’s day is a day to celebrate womanhood all over the world. 8th march is observed as international women day – A day to celebrate the achievements of women in various fields like Art, economic, political social line other then this we also celebrate this day to express our love respect and thanks towards women.

She believes she could and she did it.
There are many women who have won Padma shri Award for their great work towards nation, culture, society and humanity. Some of them are:

Indira P. P Bora
Indira P. P Bora is satriya Dancer from Assam. Trained in bharatnatyam for 13 years under Guru Rukmani Devi, Bora has promoted and performed satriya in Newzealand, United State and vietnam. In 2020 she was conferred with Padma shri Award.

Oinam Bembem Devi
Oinam Bembem Devi is an Indian footballer born in Imphal, Manipur. She was nicknamed
“Durga of Indian Football” and is currently involved in spreading awareness about women football in India. She was conferred with Padma shri on Jan 26, 2020.

Lia Diskin
Lia Diskin is an Argentine journalist she was awarded Padma shri in 2020. She was conferred with fourth highest Indian civilian award for being actively involved in the promotion of Gandhian values of peace and non-violence For the past four decades.

Jaswantiben Jamnadas Popat
Jaswantiben Jamnadas Popat is an Indian business women, who is one of the founder of shri mahila griha udyog lijjat papad – a women’s worker cooperative involved in manufacturing of various fast moving consumer goods. In 2021 she was conferred with Padma shri Award.

Meenakshi Jain
Meenakshi Jain is an Indian political scientist and historian. A scholar on relation between caste and politics, she was conferred with Padma shri Award in 2020 for her work in literature and education.
